We were instructed to strip out, clean and complete reinstatement works on a home damaged by fire.

The electrical fire originated in a first-floor bedroom and caused significant damage to all the bedrooms and smoke and water damage to many of the rooms below.

This was a complex job that started with striping out the damaged rooms and completing a rigorous clean of the smoke and soot-damaged rooms on the ground floor using specialist cleaning techniques, including deodorisation using thermal fogging.

We needed to complete reinstatement works to all bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor and replace some damaged windows and doors.  The work on the first floor included cleaning, plastering, decorating, new internal doors, built-in wardrobes, skirting, door hanging, architraves, as well as new flooring. We also installed two new bathrooms and carried out all associated heating, plumbing and electrical works.

We have recently completed roof works to property in Woking which had been leaking into the Sainsburys store situated below.

We were asked to carry out a series of works to the flat roof, which included some localised repairs, resetting of the stone parapet wall caps and the preparation and installation of a Sika Liquid Plastics Decothane Ultra Top-Up 10 / Sikalastic Rapid Coating System with an added Sikalastic Rapid Trafficable Waterproofing and Wearing System.

This was an exciting project as we had to not only liaise with the business below, but we also had to communicate daily with the six tenanted properties, who still needed access to this roof area to gain access to their front doors.

The Sika product installed offers a 15-year Workmanship and Manufacturer’s Guarantee and peace of mind to our client.

Due to historic bomb damage, we were instructed to complete stabilisation works to this previous party wall over time, the top gable and the exposed chimneys started to rotate away from the building.  Works that were completed included: Heli bar bracing/stitching to the side gable wall and render repairs. New timber A-frames were also required in the loft to tie the top of the gable wall in, as well as roof and leadwork repairs. Heli-bar strapping and brickwork stitching was also needed on the old chimneys to tie them back into the original wall. On completion, the entire rendered gable wall was finished in a storm-dry weather coating. Part of the project management of this job required party wall approvals and full scaffold design.

Following a survey of these HMO properties, it was found that the internal doors were not compliant with current fire regulations. The project was to install new fire doors to all habitable rooms, kitchens and garages. This included making good and local decorations.

Following a tenancy renewal and full survey of the building. It was found that the means of escape, fire doors and general layout of the property were lacking. We were awarded a tender to install a full fire alarm system, means of escape corridors and new fire doors throughout the property after achieving full compliance certification from building control.

The Brambridge Shop

We were employed to complete a full dilapidation survey following the end of a tenancy. The property required a number of remedial works to bring it back to its pre-let condition, and we were able to secure the landlord a settlement of circa £20,000 to complete the necessary repair works.
