Duration of project: The project was completed within 4 weeks
Brief description of the project: The power station of the care home was hit by a vehicle and partially collapsed. The project required rebuilding two walls, replacing the cut roof, and installing a new door. The project was complex because the power station held the main 3-phase boards for the care home, which couldn’t be without power due to the needs of their residents. We worked closely with our electrician to create a temporary wall for the mains to be moved to, so the care home would not need to rely on generators whilst the work was completed. This only required the care home to be without power for 45 minutes. We worked quickly and efficiently to set up scaffolding, remove the roof, and add roof protection to keep out the elements. We then removed the damaged bricks and rebuilt the walls, before installing a new roof, along with soffits, fascias and guttering. Finally, we installed a new door to the substation before moving the mains electricity board back to its original position within the substation. The project was complex, but we worked with our contractor teams to complete it quickly, so the care home suffered minimal disruption.
