Brief description of the project: The house suffered a major flood due to a failure of the Hayling Island sea defences. This resulted in significant water damage to the property’s ground floor. We started by stripping back the plasterboard and walls to the ground floor, protecting the first floor, and completing a dry out of the property. Once it was dry, we began work to restore the property. Works included: new wiring and plumbing throughout, a complete rebuild of the front porch, new front door and windows on the ground floor, including new bifold doors onto the rear garden, plastering and decorating, new flooring, a new kitchen, and repairs to the garage. The owner subsequently decided to sell the property once reinstatement work was completed and engaged us to carry out a number of additional private works, including removing a ground-floor fireplace and wall, upgrading the replacement kitchen, and installing a new electric roller-shutter garage door. New utility space in the garage, decoration, new carpets on the stairs and on the first floor, and external decorations.
